Part 1 (Interview)
1. What is your full name?
My first name is Rupinder and my family name is Chahal and Please just call me Rupinder.
2. Can I see your passport?
Of course, here you go.
3. Do you work or are you a student?
4. Do you think you are a tidy person?
Yes, I consider myself to be pretty tidy. While my house isn’t always spotless, it’s usually in good order. I live in an apartment that’s quite sparsely furnished so it’s easy to keep it neat. Also, I have a habit of cleaning up as I go so things never get too messy. I haven’t always been so orderly though; when I was a teenager, sometimes my bedroom was like a pigsty! I think as we grow older, we become tidier; or at least I have!
5. Are you more tidy at home or at work?
Of course at home because that’s where I live- it’s my personal space. Although I practice tidiness in the office, I still think that IT’s incomparable to how I organize my things at home. In the office, I don’t have the absolute freedom to arrange things thoroughly due to office rules.
6. Did you ever change your opinion on something?
I think changing one’s opinion is really hard for some people. But I think it is much better than staying stagnant and being obstinate and stubborn. I have changed my opinion about different things.
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe an area of science that interests you.
What it is
How you learned about it
Why are you interested in it
Well, when I was studying in my school I always found the science most difficult subject but science is imperative in a student’s life. As I grew, I got more frustrated by this because it was divided in to different parts such as, physics, chemistry and bio.
However, after my 9th class, my curiosity related to science had developed. I wanted to know everything about science from the starting stage. Actually, that year only was a science fair in which I saw a robot that was almost looking like a real woman.
There I got a chance to meet the researcher of that robot and he explained that how demanding the study of robotics will be in the future.
Moreover, he demonstrated that how the robot work. I was honestly, astonished to see that how robot was reacting to each and every command given by the controller. After that only I got fascinated towards this study and set a goal that one day I will definitely become a robotics engineer and will design high-tech robot that will be useful for various fields or purposes.
This is not only my dream but my passion also and to accomplish it. I am going abroad to study in the best university. So, yes robotics science is a field in which I am really interested.
Follow-ups
Q1. What’s the best invention in the past hundred years?
Computers are the greatest invention of all time because they have multi-tasking features that can minimize your work, they can display and let you manipulate stored information and they are used in almost all fields for any purpose.
Q2. What’s the influence of science on human life?
Science has had a major impact on society and their influence is growing. Science has changed how we live . The food that we eat is product of agricultural science, the skin and hair care products, the medicine we take , the cosmetics that we use are examples of chemical science, the cars , computers, smart phones that we comfortably and conveniently make use of every day are form of technological science.
Q3. Do you think it is mandatory to teach science in schools?
Yes, I believe that science studies should be made compulsory for the students because science studies are lucrative to improve the IQ of people. Moreover, science has widened the scope for the employment. As a result, a plethora of people have become able to earn bread and butter for their family while performing jobs in the field of science.
Q4. In your daily life where can you see or practice science?
Science is involved in cooking, eating, breathing, driving, playing, etc. The fabric we wear, the brush and paste we use, the shampoo, the talcum powder, the oil we apply, everything is the consequence of advancement of science. Life is unimaginable without all this, as it has become a necessity.
Q5. Are all mysteries solved by science?
Not all, despite many decades of research, and many theories, science still can’t explain exactly why we sleep. We do know, more or less, what happens while we are asleep, but the main reason for it is still unknown. There are definitely a lot of mysterious left to uncover on earth.
