Sample Answer
Well, I believe that good health is one of the most valuable things in life, and sometimes a little support from someone close can make a big difference. Here, I’d like to talk about my younger brother, whom I helped improve his health and fitness a couple of years ago.
If my memory serves me right, I noticed that he was not paying much attention to his physical health. He used to wake up late, skip breakfast and eat a lot of junk food. As a result, he had gained quite a lot of weight and found it difficult to run or exercise. I was genuinely concerned about him, so I decided to help him develop a healthier lifestyle.
First of all, I encouraged him to go to bed on time instead of staying up until midnight. Within a week, he managed to fix his sleeping schedule. Then, I started taking him to a public park in our locality, where we would jog, do yoga and perform some basic exercises together. I also helped him cut down on junk food and asked my gym trainer to suggest a suitable diet plan.
To be honest, it was quite challenging in the beginning. He was comfortable with his old routine and sometimes felt frustrated about making so many changes. However, I kept motivating him and reminded him that small steps can lead to big results. We both stayed consistent and didn't give up.
After about a month, I convinced him to join my gym, and I was really impressed by his dedication. Gradually, he became fitter, more energetic and much more confident. He built up his stamina, became more flexible and got into much better shape.
Looking back, I feel really proud of him. I’m also delighted that I could support him and help him turn his life around. It taught me that with proper guidance, motivation and consistency, positive changes are definitely possible.
Follow-ups
1. What effect does stress have on health?
Stress has a very negative effect on both our body and mind. For example, when someone is stressed, they may not sleep properly at night, feel tired throughout the day and find it difficult to concentrate on their work. Mentally, stress can make a person anxious, irritated and emotionally exhausted. If it continues for a long time, it may lead to serious health problems such as high blood pressure. So, it is very important to manage stress through relaxation and regular exercise.
2. Which group pays more attention to health, young people or old people?
I think nowadays both groups are quite health-conscious, but in different ways. Older people tend to take their health more seriously because they may have problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure or joint pain. They often go for morning walks, eat healthy home-cooked food and do yoga. Young people, on the other hand, are also becoming more health-conscious because of social media. They go to the gym, follow fitness influencers and watch what they eat. If I had to choose, I would say older people are generally more serious about their health because they have experienced health problems themselves.
